We Victorians haven't been allowed to wash our cars at home for over a year. Or our windows. So it's getting harder to tell what those birds are anyway ... I've seen Swift Parrots only once at home - but in the last house, not this one. I wasn't washing my car, or doing anything particularly productive, so I don't think I make your list, Edwin.

Not sure about "best" bird, but the most frequently seen bird around Geelong and district at the moment is probably Musk Lorikeet. They have been persistent everywhere since late summer.

PS Not a particularly newsworthy thread, but those of us not chasing unusual gulls need to have something to talk about ...

Mine would be today's Swift Parrots but I have often seen/heard other
interesting birds this way esp. raptors. Had I not have washed my car this afternoon (was going to postpone it till next weekend), I may have not seen
these Swift Parrots!
