Hello all, Post cyclone Jacob Christmas Island. Thousands of fallen trees and many of the minor roads still closed. Some interesting birds about, including: WHITE WAGTAIL - seen and photographed at the rubbish tip for three days. Often being stalked by cats - now gone. ORIENTAL HOBBY - originally seen by Mike Carter, Grant Penrhyn and Colin Judkin during their visit but views were too brief to ID it. It was later seen by myself and 9 others at the rubbish tip hunting pigeons. We observed it one morning hit a Christmas Island Imperial Pigeon in flight and knock it off course. The pigeon escaped.
