Hi all,I've just returned from 3 weeks in north Qld, had a fabulous time (thanks especially to Maria & Alan Gillanders and Peter Cooper). Re the Laughing Gull: it was present on the Cairns Esplanade last Sunday at last light, amongst Silver Gulls opposite the RSL - this was at low tide. I then saw it again on Monday morning in front of the Lagoon swimming pool and here I was able to observe it from no more than 5 metres - binoculars weren't necessary! Tide was falling. This was despite not being able to find it on 18th Feb when I first arrived. As Peter Marsh wrote, well worth looking for along the Esplanade. cheers Carol =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
