G'day,
Going for a walk this morning I saw a flock of five Channel-billed Cuckoos flying high and at speed. The wind was probably 25 knots at head height. We do not often see that many birds together except at feeding aggregations. On watching them fly over through the bins, I realised that there were at least three others flying much higher and much faster as they stayed within the same view. At 10x magnification they were recognisable because of their shape but no detail was visible. I did not hear a call. Later I heard a distant call overhead but could not locate the bird/s.

Regards,
Alan Gillanders
