For me, the above fact certainly puts the scepticism about the Coxens
fig-parrot in a new light.  Fortunately, our fig-parrot is nowhere near as
elusive as the Bugun liocichla was until its existence was proven beyond all
doubt!  Conservation efforts seem often to be dogged by persistent
scepticism as well as the usual "who cares about things hardly anyone sees"
argument.

Me neither.  To be fair, though, I think it was pretty clear from John
Young's original announcement that there was alot of work to be done before
any paper could be submitted to the Emu.  I wish him well.
