Well done Jade on trying to get more kids into this
great hobby.
The main problem with birding as a hobby is the fact
it's highly 'uncool' for teenagers and 20 something
year olds, and I should know being 24 myself. High
school is a tough place for a 'bird nerd', Thankfully
being unpopular was never an issue for me (tickets)
but did affect other interested friends.
This period I feel is where a lot of enthusiasm is
lost and hard to recover, with peer pressure and
eventually families being produced and work taking its
toll.
Has anyone got any ideas how to solve this problem?
Kids are easy to persuede as are you old folks, but
that difficult middle period is the real challenge.

Hope that makes sense and not to many people were
offended by the 'old folks' comment :-p
