Hello from the UK,

While on a three month trip round Eastern Australia last spring (for you), at
The Crater NP in the early morning, we saw a Pied Currawong with a middle sized
bat in its beak. It carried this to a branch overlooking the crater lake and
looked as though it was about to start eating it when it was disturbed and flew
away. Unfortunately we did not see the bird actually catch the bat. Having see
a Currawong catching flying ants I can believe it would be capable of catching
a bat.

On a UK note we have a sparrowhawk who lurks around our garden in the summer
evenings and attempts to catch pipistrelle bats emerging from my workshop roof.
However, so far, we have not witnessed a successful foray.
