Further to my earlier message, Guy Dutson at Birds Australia says that he can 
be a contact and collection point for any donations of binoculars for Melbourne 
(and Victoria.)

Guy will be going to Manokwari on his Papuan bird trip in April and would be 
able to take donated binos with him. (He may have room for extra people - it is 
a wonderful area, I have been there twice and recommend it. Actually any 
birding trip to Papua is wonderful.)
