I've also heard (but not seen) Lewin's Rail a couple of times at
Barren Grounds. They seem to like the dense swampy heath. It's a
fairly similar habitat structure to the swamps that they inhabit in
the Blue Mountains.

While I was trying to get a better look I heard a call which sounded like a Lewin's Rail. After checking my bird call CD I'm pretty sure that's what it was but I didn't see the bird. I took a GPS of the spot if anyone is interested,Nick =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
