  Hi all and Mike,

Saw my first swifts for the season today. Unexpectedly they were
Fork-tailed Swifts. I usually see Needletails before Fork-tails. Two
flocks of 25 and 7 were seen over Greenvale Reservoir Park in northern
Melbourne. Later in the afternoon when I arrived home in Broadford
another 42 Fork-tailed Swifts were seen as well as 2 White-throated
Needletails. The current stormy and unsettled weather is providing
ideal conditions for swifts at the moment. So keep you eyes out for
  Swifts in south-eastern Australia.

  Michael Ramsey, Broadford, Vic.
