This is a reminder for all birdos visiting or living in coastal se
Australia.
I have recently heard second hand that some Regent Honeyeaters were
apparently observed near Bairnsdale in East Gippsland. The observer
thought they could have been nesting and had been near his home for over
six weeks.
With the current drought conditions and fires in southern Australia it's
possible that birds will be turning up in more coastal environments than
in other years.
Please keep a careful eye and ear out for this endangered species. Should
anyone come across the species they should IMMEDIATELY telephone or
contact David Geering (details below) who records all observations.
