Hi all, Further to Alan Gillander's report on Hasties Swamp, I'd like to belatedly report a pair of Painted Snipe at the swamp across the lake from the hide on Wednesday 13th December at about midday. There was a male and a female hunkered down together in the reeds. I've reported the bird to the relevant people. I also had Oriental Cuckoos - 4 on the top of Mt Lewis in the clearing, and at least two on a Daintree River boat trip with Chris Dahlberg, as well as at least 3 Black Bitterns.
