Steve,I think that you might have missed a recent thread on Birding-aus about Pheasant Coucals. They regularly occur in the Illawarra Region as far south as Barren Grounds near Jamberoo, and certainly fairly regularly on Maddens Plains south of Sydney and in the various catchments of the Avon, Bordeaux Dams etc, with occasional visitors as far south as Jervis Bay.
