On Tuesday morning I noticed a bush stone curlew walking along our back boundary in outer suburban Brisbane. He disappeared behind a shed and some stealthy investigation uncovered two adults and two juvenile birds (about as tall as the parents knee). Was out for much of the day but later in the afternoon returned to find the whole family wandering around the yard to within about 5 metres of our back patio. The juveniles would either stand in the shadow of a parent or sit in the shade under some bottlebrush trees. We were able to observe them for about an hour and to take some lovely video of their movement. A great birding experience. ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
