In response to your 2nd query - "... where do Pied Currawongs nest in the
Sydney area?", I suppose the answer was up a gum tree in my neighbour's yard
(unfortunately it was cut down recently).

Pied Currawongs nest regularly here in the South Penrith area, hence we also
have a quite large influx of CB Cuckoos at this time of year.

Dear all
Many years ago when I lived in Darlington (between Newtown/Chippwndale, Sydney), there was a Pied Currawong nest in a neighbour's large exotic tree (sp.unknown), and the parents cleaned out all the garden skinks in my back yard that season.
