A Google finds an entry in Wikipedia which says:
'The title comes from the address of a letter the city-dweller sends, "The
Overflow" being the name of the sheep station where Clancy was working when
they met.'

The following sites:

indicate that the Overflow station was in NSW about 30km SE of Nymagee (NW
of Condobolin i.e. between Cobar and Condobolin).
