Hi all,
As a recent South African subscriber, I have enjoyed following various posts on
this forum. I particularly enjoyed the recent contributions on the Mutton Bird,
and funnily enough, while browsing through an Australian publication last
night, - A Treasury of Australian Wildlife, a selection of contributions from
the magazine The Australian Museum - came across a contibution authored by
Allen Keast entitled Mutton-birds. Of particular interest, was the story of
'The Bird of Providence' of Norfolk Island (Pterodroma melanopus) about which
most history, romance and (from the viewpoint of the bird) tragedy have been
woven.
If anyone interested in reading the contribution, I will scan and send it to
you off list.

Kind regards,

Bryan Groom
