I have just posted two pictures of a female duck on the Birds Queensland Website. http://www.birdsqueensland.org.au/ Please tell me what you think it is. This is a puzzle to which I do not know the answer - that is I still hesitate to agree with the photographer's identification. Arrogance on my behalf perhaps but that is a Webmaster's privilege.
