Funny you should mention that. I had a couple of encounters with Boobooks
yesterday as well. One in a hollow at Glenbrook shops (Blue Mountains),
boobooking as per normal, and then a bunch of weird goatish calls.
The other encounter was less pleasant. It was at 1:30am, outside my bedroom
window for 45 minutes solid. I'd gone to bed with a migraine at 8pm and
still have it now. I can't begrudge them that much though, cute little
buggers that they are.

Hi all
I heard a Boobook Owl calling as I was walking up the road from Killara
station (Sydney northern suburbs this evening - 6 Sept). The bird called
five or six times from a large tree just by the station footbridge as it
joins Culworth Avenue - all this at 6:10pm.
I couldn't see the caller - it was dark and I had no torch and it's a tall
tree. I'm sure the other commuters wondered what I was up to!
Cheers
