Hi All
On the subject of migrations to Lamington, whether they be altitudinal
or latitudinal, living near the park on the fringes of rainforest we see
many birds come and go throughout the year. Interestingly enough, some
only appear for a day or two then go again, but when we see them it is
usually around the same time of year every year. A number of species
move between rainforest and sclerophyll forests. I won't break them into
separate groups but have listed a few for interests sake. If anyone
wants more details please contact me.
Species which come and go from our yard are but not restricted to: (some
of course are the regular latitudinal migrants)
Sacred Kingfisher
Leaden FC
Spangled Drongo
Usual cuckoos
Rose Robin
Golden Whistler
WE Monarch
BF Monarch
Rufous Fantail
DB Finch
Restless FC
Barred CS
WBellied CS
Several HE's
Olive Whistler
CS tit
Once again we are 5km from Binna Burra. Sometimes it seems when we get
strong westerly winds for several days is when things like DB Finch's
turn up. Those conditions should be coming soon?
Cheers
Dan
