I went looking for the reported Crested Bellbird around International Garden
and Moulder Park, south Orange, this morning. I could not locate the bird
but I did see a male Rufous Whistler, the earliest return to Orange for this
migrant that I’m aware of.

Some of the trees around Orange are beginning to bud which is very early for
halfway through August. In the past August has been much colder and has
snowed at this time of year and later. Looking forward to some other early
returning migrants – come on Pallid Cuckoos.
