Seems to be an early Spring with the Daffodils and Grevilleas in flower
and green grass after the last rain. Heatwave conditions for August in
Orange, NSW with max. temps of 14-15C.
Yesterday evening I sighted and heard a female Crested Bellbird in my yard for the first time ever. I hope she has a family closeby. This morning the calls of Grey Strike-thrushes can be heard from the parkland up the road. Also sighted yesterday evening is either an inmature Crimson or Western Rosella. Probably an escapee. It did not hang around for long enough for a definate ID. I will try and attract it back with some parrot seed.
