AND it is on a bird flight-path between Anderson's Inlet and Corner
Inlet via a number of wetlands - a serious danger to waterfowl and other
birds, inc. White-bellied Sea Eagle.
Incidentally, did anyone else notice a tiny report in The Age this week,
that a THIRD Tasmanian Wedgetailed Eagle had died as a result of one of
their windfarms?
Anthea Fleming in Ivanhoe (Vic). Graham Buchan wrote: Mick, This story is consistent with Melbourne sources - the real reason was that the windfarm is in a marginal seat with a number of prominent NIMBY's (presumably local Liberal Party members with candidate selection power) kicking up a fuss on visual aesthestic grounds. The reality is that the OBPs were never likely to be hit by windmill rotors. It was a political (in the meanest way) furphy. Cheers, Graham Buchan |
