Today I checked the local sewage ponds at Mt Barnett, Gibb River Rd in the Kimberley (WA) as I do most days, and found a Wood Sandpiper. This is my first sighting of a migratory wader for this season. In 2004 I didn't see my first Wood Sandpiper here until September.
