Hi all, Late Sunday, I was watching a flock of approx 100 Magpie Geese on a small dam near my house when a single Black-necked Stork emerged from the tree line and waded into the water. I watched it for about 15mins before it started getting too dark. This was my first sighting of one, they sure are a lovely bird, and big! The bird watching club tells me they are not very common in this area. I know that in my time in Hervey Bay this is the 1st time I've seen one. Made for a great end to the weekend (especially after seeing my first Owlet Nightjar earlier in the day).
