during our 4 days in burren junction the lapwing was most difficult to find
between those hours (ie 10.30 and 4.30), roughly speaking. on one day we (and
others) did not see it at all. it had a habit of sitting down in the heat of
the day, usually beside or behind grey clumps of burr which made it almost
invisible.
in the early mornings and especially on dusk it would often turn up close to
the road, particularly by the waterlogged ditch before the silos.

Subject: GHL @ Burren Junction (not)
All
After 6 hours of searching on saturday, by up to 8 birders, there was no sign
of the GHL.
All of the usual sites were searched 3-4-5 times between 10.30 and 4.30
The black falcon was still there playing havoc with the Galahs and Cockatiels
as wa sthe big flock of Plumed Whistling Ducks
At 4pm a Caspian Tern flew over heading roughly South East.
regards
Tired and disappointed!!
