Hi Judith,

My favourite area is Nightcap National Park about 35 mins drive from Byron
Bay.

I have seen Satin Bower birds here before around Gibbergunyah Range Road
entrance (on the road to Rocky Creek Dam) and also Rummery Road. You don't need
a 4 wheel drive for these roads, it can however be a little rough.

Other birds you are likely to see here are Fruit doves and other doves
including Emerald, Pigeons (Topknot, Wonga) and Regent Bowerbirds.

Near Byron Bay, Belongil beach has a lagoon which is worth visiting.

  Regards,
  Charles Hunter
  Paddington, Sydney.

This weekend I'll be in the Byron Bay / Lennox Head area. Anyone know
of Satin Bowerbirds around there? (Any other highlights in the
vicinity, also?)

Thanks.
Judith.
