Hi David, i dont know about the nikkon, but i purchased my first scope , the
kowa 821m a matter of weeks ago and its fantastic. Very expensive i know but
the guilt soon fades when you get a chance to use it ! I might add, i bought a
top of the range scope so that there will be no need to upgrade, $1865 plus
$315 for my Manfrotto tripod works out at $34 a year if i live to be 90 ! ( i'm
27 now ) Pretty cheap for a lifetime of great birding! I cant believe i lived
without a scope. No more squinting hard against the binos or trying to creep
closer without flushing them,or braving the mud flats and hoping you dont sink!
Now there is no escape , they might as well present themselves to you for
surrender! I can throughly recommend the kowa but i'm no expert and have not
seen the nikkon.

cheers
Garry
