Hi LaurieMany thanks for that good news - and all the other interesting info you post on Birding-Aus. Shows what some serious habitat restoration can do for birds but hope it doesn't give the UK government an excuse to trash wetlands in the Thames estuary. Incidentally one of our Aussie wine brands, Banrock Station, supported work at the Barnes centre including a bank for sand martins to breed. It was a great idea of theirs to promote wetlands after their initial idea for promoting the environment and themselves - providing seeds of Australian plants - was shown to be a problem as inappropriate species could be introduced to some local areas.
