Dear Andrew,

note that the Sibley guide exists in 3 forms - a "total" version, and separate guides to eastern and western birds. I strongly recommend getting the "total" version, even though it is bulkier - for instance, I was in Colorado this year, and there they expect both eastern and western birds.

Best wishes, Rob

Andrew,
The Sibley Guide to Birds is currently recognised as the best field
guide for North American birds (and hence Montreal), with the National
Geographic Field Guide to The Birds of North America coming a not very
close second.

   G'day Birders,

As the topic appears to be on field guides, I was wondering if anyone
has information on a good one for Montreal and surrounding areas in
Quebec. I'm there for 2 weeks in July/August, so any information would
   be great.

   Cheers,
   Andrew.
