Another field guide question

I agree with those two choices 100%. My favourite is the National Geographic, 4th edition, because it is small enough to take into the field and an excellent guide all round. The Sibley's is a large book and therefore a bit cumbersome. However, the large volume was recently broken down into two smaller ones (east and west) that are more field friendly. I don't like the smaller volumes as well as the large one, because the plates are, of course, smaller. My choice is to carry National Geographic with me and keep Sibley in the car for reference.

Andrew,
The Sibley Guide to Birds is currently recognised as the best field
guide for North American birds (and hence Montreal), with the National
Geographic Field Guide to The Birds of North America coming a not very
close second.

Hope this helps,

   G'day Birders,

As the topic appears to be on field guides, I was wondering if anyone
has information on a good one for Montreal and surrounding areas in
Quebec. I'm there for 2 weeks in July/August, so any information would
   be great.

   Cheers,
   Andrew.
