Further to the various reports of 'Winter' birds in the Sydney area, there
are quite a lot of Yellow-faced Honeyeaters, Silvereyes, Golden Whistlers
and Olive-backed Orioles in the Penrith area this week. (10 Olive-backed
Orioles in the treetops alongside the Nepean River last Friday morning).
A flock of about 20 Red-rumped Parrots was feeding on a roadside verge in
Regentville this morning, and a flock of Corellas which must have been
between 400-500 birds flew over my car in Mulgoa Road, Penrith today (not
sure if Long-billed or Little, probably a mixed flock, but I was in traffic
at the time).
