Ah Dools, you've done it again.Forget pristine riverine habitat, throw-out
all that rainforest crap, consign pelagics to the bottom of the cesspit,
give birders what they really want-- a chance to brag about their best
sewerage farms. And why not? They give us some great birding.
But I'm worried and distressed about where all the sewage has gone, the
language- manglers from Canberra and beyond have turned it into a veritable
sludge of euphuisms that would do Don Watson proud. Is there any town in
this Great Brown Land that still has sewerage works? Even those rugged
outback folk of Hay and beyond have turned to the weak-as-water euphuisms.
I think an award should be made for the town with the best alternative
name for a sewerage works. You know, something like Smellytown's Pongo
Ornithological Observatory (known collloquially as P.O.O.), or Faeceville's
Bacterial Ornithological Gardens (or B.O.G.).

By the way, how frequently are Blackbirds and Song Thrush (members of the
turdus species) seen at sewage farms? It seems like perfect habitat.

Must run, have heard the call of nature (now was that a Rose
Robin.......................)
