G'day all A couple I don't think have been mentioned: Canberra - not many places in the ACT for water birds so this was always worth a visit. In the mid 90s it was readily accessible without permission. They even provided a style over the fence and a 'no swimming' sign. What is the access situation like these days? Tweed Heads (NSW) just to the south of the Gold Coast was excellent with lots of lush vegetation as well as the ponds. Again - I don't know what the access situation is now. I'll have to check out the local one more often.
