Hi birders, it looks like the Scarlet-chested Parrots are back at Gluepot! See message below (forwarded with permission). Unfortunately for those wanting to twitch them, we've just had about 25mm of rain today and it's still raining. I have just spoken to the rangers and the tracks are unpassable for normal vehicles. In my experience it takes at least 24 hours for the puddles to reduce in size sufficient for 4wd's to pass without causing too much damage to the tracks, and we're talking 3-4 days as a minimum for 2wd's to be able to get in again. The rangers will have the latest information, they can be contacted on (08)88928600. General information on Birds Australia Gluepot Reserve can be found on the website: http://www.riverland.net.au/gluepot/ I'm thinking of heading out there on Sunday if conditions allow it and will report back. cheers Peter Waanders Waikerie, Sth Australia South Australian Birding: http://www.sabirding.com email1: email2: |
