The nearest spot to Sydney for a reasonable guarantee for Hooded Plovers
that I know of is Berrara, south of Nowra, close to Sussex Inlet.
Take the road as far as you can go (there's a small inlet next to a load of
holiday cottages) then get out and walk on to the beach. Check both the
beach and the rock platforms
