Hi everyone

I'm sorry so many of you have had messages delayed over the last day or two (I had a couple disappear as well). I don't know what caused it, but they all arrived between 4.40pm and 5pm today. I'll find out from Vicnet what's been going on.

On another matter - those of you who used to subscribe in the past, send a message, then unsubscribe, may need to change how you use Birding-Aus. Now it's possible to be a member (and send messages to the list) but not receive messages via email if you don't want them.

If you do subscribe/unsubscribe there is one further problem: all new subscribers are automatically given a "moderated" status, which means your first message has to be approved manually before you can post messages to the list - this is to stop spammers subscribing and sending messages. I can override this setting if I recognise your email address from older messages - but that doesn't always happen as it relies on me being wide awake and alert when I'm online ....

As soon as a moderated member sends a message, I get a message from the Listserver to say that message is awaiting moderation, and I can approve it in a few clicks -if I'm online. I have enlisted some helpers so that we have (almost) round the clock coverage. If you think your message has been delayed, lost, rejected, etc then please contact me directly on this address and I'll do what I can.

Thanks
