Hi everyoneTony cracked all but one of these in a few minutes, but I'll give the correct versions here, with an explanation. Australian flower-swallow - Mistletoebird Bank diamond - Spotted Pardalote Betcherrygah - Budgerigar betting bird - Large-tailed Nightjar* black bell-magpie - Pied Currawong (? also black) black redbill - Sooty Oystercatcher* apparently in North Queensland, bets were put on how many of the "oop - oop - oop ..." calls a bird would make, thus its name. Obviously in the days before the TAB.
