The following sighting has just been recorded.
Area: SA
Date: 16 March, 2006
Observer: Colin Rogers
Location: Thompsons Beach
Observation:
Great viewing and photo opportunities exist at Thompsons beach on a
falling morning tide for the following waders in breeding plumage: <p>
Lesser Sand Plover (at least 3)<br /> Greater Sand Plover (at least
1)<br /> <p> Great Knot<br /> Red Knot<br /> Bar-tailed Godwit<br /> <p>
Also look out for Double-banded Plover, juveniles and non-breeding
adults. <p> Friday would be ideal if you can make it to the northern car
park. There may be disturbance on Saturday. Scan the rocky sandy area
just north of the car park for the Sand Plover.
