Hi Ian & others,

I am very satisfied with my Epson Stylus Photo RX510 Multi function
Scanner/Printer.
I know some people will throw up their hands and say a multi function machine is not the way to go. But in terms of quality of the result for cost outlaid, I think it is an excellent piece of gear. We have scanned some 3000 slides to date some dating back nearly 50 years. Some of these slides have deteriorated [gone magenta, even kodachrome 25 & 64]. One of the main reasons we got the machine was to archive old slides rather than wanting to digitalise them for publication [although some have gone that way]. The other reason for this type of printer is that it has 6 individual ink cartridges [cheaper to run than some] and does a magnificent job of printing photos.
As a by the way, Ian asked for replies off list.
I for one find that I am often interested in other peoples replies and provided they are not taking excessive space on the list I think it is great to get others opinions even if it is slightly off topic.
