White-faced Heron behaviour

Last month, I placed a report re the White-faced Heron placing twigs in the bird-bath.

The activity continued the same until recently, but I now have a new WFH, which I think is the latest offspring of the female who has been coming for years.   It is an extremely agressive bird with extra long legs, and will not tolerate the other two birds in the yard.

It does the same twig trick, but now it is up to 12 twigs in the bird-bath.

During the recent heavy rains, that same WFH stood in 5 mm of water left laying on the lawn, doing the typical foot-shaking routine to disturb the "fish" which might be lurking!

Meantime, the once very common grass skinks are swiftly becoming a rarity in my yard.
