since January, we have had Rainbow Bee-eaters flocking near our place a couple of km east of Grafton, NSW.  This has happened for a couple of years now, and we assume that it is preparatory to migration.  They fly in large numbers (upwards of 100) in the early evening, calling continually, and seem to settle into a couple of large gum trees for the night.

they are not here other than at this time of year and the area is quite different from the coastal habitat where we usually see them.
