Hi Birders,When I was living at Berkeley Vale where the house was only 100m from Tuggerah Lake during the period 1988-1998, there was a big flood in Feb 1990 and the Tuggerah Lakes rose about a metre higher than usual and flooded many houses and roads although it only flooded our front and backyards. The water stayed up for a least a week. During the flood and while waiting for the waters to go down, I was looking out our lounge room window one day, down onto the backyard of the house next door, and saw a Black Bittern feeding amongst the flood debris.
