G'day allI ventured up To Halls Gap yesterday to have a look at the areas burnt in the Grampians National Park a few weeks ago. Apparently about 50% of the park has been burnt. Here are a few photos. Does anyone know - when a eucalypt is burnt and the epicormic buds shoot, what happens if these are burnt again within months? Will there be more buds? I'm guessing the trees would be stringybarks and manna gums. http://members.datafast.net.au/clarkja/grampsfire/ grampiansfirephotos.html Cheers Steve Clark Hamilton, Vic http://members.datafast.net.au/clarkja/sw_birds.htm -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
