Hi all I've just booked a flight to Australia in late April staying 3 weeks till mid May. My intention is to spend time mainly in NSW, and will be travelling to see family in Tumut. I will most likely travel south from Sydney along the Prince's Highway spending about a week before reaching Tumut via either Canberra or more directly by the Snowy Mountains Highway. I'd like to ask if any of the pelagics from Wollongong or elsewhere are likely to be worthwhile at this time of the year (I've not seen any albatross, prions etc) ? I will have time to travel west from Tumut, and this is where I would particularly benefit from your advice. Are any of Deniliquin's specialities still likely to be performing ? Or would I be best advised to try elsewhere like in other areas of NSW or into Victoria ? I've been to Australia before but still have to catch up with many halfway common birds and so would appreciate any tips for places to visit along my (rough) itinerary. Many thanks in advance Geoff Bowen Norwich, UK |
