Our property has a very small, quickly drying up dam and we've recently been looking at fixing up the leaks and re-doing the walls to make it more useable, mainly for a bit of irrigation and fire prevention.

Imagine my surprise when this afternoon I spotted a Buff-banded Rail together with its two black little fluff ball young wandering in and out of the reeds.

All dam work has been put on hold!   We also have 2 recently fledged Wedge-tailed eagles that soar over our paddocks that are always a joy to watch.

Cheers,
Karen.
