Hi Alan and others, We also found Diamond Doves at two separate locations (1km apart on consecutive days) north-east of Gunnedah, just west of Tamworth really. Interestingly, the first bird was following a Peaceful Dove and calling to it furtively and bowing etc, as if to be attempting some form of courtship. The second sighting was of 2 birds within a Bouganvillea thicket in the front yard of a farm cottage. Interestingly, there was an anecdotal record of 4 birds near Kurri in the Hunter Valley from December last year. My question to Alan would be, would the irruption be likely to shift birds to sub-coastal areas?
