Hello all,

I've added some more photos from my NZ trip to my website (www.wildlifing.com)- almost finished now! These latest photos cover Franz Josef Glacier, Punakaiki, Canterbury Museum (Christchurch), Auckland Zoo and the Kauri forests of Waipoua and Trounson Forest Park. From a bird perspective I recommend a visit to the Canterbury Museum if you ever find yourself in Christchurch at a loose end. I found it very interesting seeing well-prepared specimens of some of New Zealand's extinct birds. Mounted birds like the NZ snipe, Laughing Owl, Piopio, Huia, NZ Quail and Bushwren. Sometimes its hard to picture birds that you only see as plates in field guides and seeing mounted specimens almost (only almost, unfortunately) brings them to life.

One more update to go- Tiri Tiri Matangi.

Cheers

Mick
