Hi all,

Joy Tansey and I went down today at about 1:30 today (Friday) and had
excellent views. Armstrongs Rd is possibly a closer entry point than
Grieve but, which ever. We found Mike's broken gate access point, went
to the two posts and there, with a few stilts and Sharpies, was the
Phalarope. Our feet stayed dried but the black squelchy mud sticks well
to the boots.

It did not seem too nervous but as we moved forward it did move off a
bit.

The northerly was fierce and the temp about 38 C but still a wonderful
way to spend the afternoon and consolidate my 600 count that I reached
on a recent Iron Range trip. I must write that trip up and post it. It
was 10 +/- days with the most wonderful group of people you could ever
hope to do a trip with.

Merry christmas or which ever other event you celebrate at this time of
year

Jen
