Bob,

My understanding was the name was a derivative of ‘Rose Hill galah’ though HANZAB only mentions  ‘Rosehill or White-cheeked Rosella’.

Cheers

Alastair

G'day all,

I have read that the Sydney suburb of Rosehill was named after Rosellas.

However, in last nights (Sunday)  ABC program "Buried Alive - part 2" the commentator stated that Rosehill was named after a G. Rose Esq.

Sounds more plausible.

Any comments ?
